While his Today Show co-anchors carry on without him, Al Roker provides a Thanksgiving Day update.

Al Roker provides videos and photographs from the hospital where he is healing in a Thanksgiving Day update.

And now for some amazing news! He is ready to be released from the hospital after being treated for several days for blood clots that had traveled from his legs into his lungs.

“OK, here’s my perspective on the Thanksgiving Day parade. It’s time to blow this taco stand as I prepare to leave the hospital! Woohoo!” Roker mentioned this in a video he posted barely an hour before of himself walking the hospital corridors.

“”Yay Al!!!! This video is fantastic!!! Without YOU, the parade would not have been the same!!!” “Yasss!! We are now eternally grateful to you!!! And all of the physicians and nurses that cared for our loved one!” Jenna Bush Hager also pitched in.

Al then tweeted a second photo of himself putting his thumbs up in front of the television at home, watching his colleagues carry on the tradition without him.

“I returned in time to see a small portion of the #macysthanksgivingdayparade.” “I’m missing @savannahguthrie and @hodakotb.”

Al Roker is skipping the parade for the first time in 27 years. And he was much missed.

Many people have been aware of Al Roker’s recent absences from the Today Show cast during the last two weeks, and the world now knows why.

In a statement posted on his personal Instagram page on Friday, Roker revealed a recent health emergency that landed him in the hospital. Along with a shot of a floral bouquet, Roker offered a few additional details.

“So many of you have gently inquired about my whereabouts,” Roker added. “Last week, I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg that had traveled to my lungs.”

“I am really pleased to be receiving good medical care and on my way to recovery after some medical whack-a-mole.  Thank you for your prayers and nice thoughts, and I hope to see you soon. Have a good weekend, everyone.”

Roker did not specify when he would return to the Today Show or if he would reprise one of his most famous roles during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In the comments portion of his post, many of his Today Show colleagues wished him a speedy recovery.

“Al Roker, please get back to us… Counting down the days xoxoxo,” Hoda Kotb said. “I adore you, Al!” Jenna Bush Hager stated. “Please hurry back home. You are deeply missed and adored!”

“I love you, Al, and I’m praying for your quick recovery every day!” Dylan Dryer mentioned this. “Love you brother,” Craig Melvin added. “I can’t wait to see you!”

Savannah Guthrie said, “You’re the strongest person we know.” “We miss you and look forward to seeing you soon!”

No more information about Roker’s condition or recuperation had been provided as of Sunday, November 20.

“He’s in terrific spirits, we’ve all talked to him,” Guthrie said on Friday’s show.
