Class photo day is a special event for kids. It’s a chance for them to express their individuality through their choice of outfits. But for some children, it can be a nerve-wracking experience. They worry about what others will think of their clothes and find posing for pictures uncomfortable.

Three-year-old Kaylieann Steinbach was eagerly looking forward to her class picture day. However, when she saw the clothes her parents had laid out for her, her excitement quickly turned into disappointment. Determined to wear something that truly reflected her unique personality, Kaylieann decided to take matters into her own hands.

Kaylieann has severe hearing loss, and she has a special way of referring to her favorite superheroes, Superman and Supergirl. Due to her difficulty in hearing the letter “S,” she calls them “Pooterman” and “Pootergirl.” So, when asked what outfit she wanted to wear for her class picture, there was no hesitation. “Pootergirl!” she exclaimed confidently.

Her father, Austin Steinbach, couldn’t argue with her choice. He realized that this was an opportunity for Kaylieann to express herself and feel empowered. So, on the day of the class photo, Kaylieann proudly posed for the photographers, wearing her supergirl suit and holding a doll.

Kaylieann is no stranger to dressing up. She often wears different costumes to school, and both the faculty and her fellow students eagerly anticipate seeing which superhero outfit she will choose each day. Her bravery and creativity have won her the admiration of many.

When Austin shared Kaylieann’s class photo on Reddit, the response was overwhelming. He received numerous messages of support and kind words, especially from the deaf community. The image of a little girl confidently embracing her uniqueness struck a chord with many people.

Kaylieann’s story is an inspiration to us all. She reminds us that we should never be afraid to be ourselves, even if it means standing out from the crowd. Her courage and determination make her a true superhero in her own right.
