I decided to take my sociology assignment a bit too literally, and the result was something Iโll probably be talking about at my ten-year reunion. My sociology professor gave us an assignment: break any social norm, but keep it legal. Most people were talking about standing backwards in an elevator or singing at the top of their lungs in a library. I wanted to do something that felt truly jarring, something that would force people to confront their own discomfort.
