Cameron Diaz

Happiness after childbirth tends to be more enduring for older mothers compared to younger ones, according to studies. Cameron Diaz, the famous actress, exemplifies the benefits of late motherhood and her story can inspire those who have doubts about getting pregnant after 40.

Here at Bright Side, we love miracles and we want to share one of these amazing stories with you – the fascinating journey of Cameron Diaz to motherhood.

A Long Journey to Motherhood

In December 2019, Cameron Diaz and her husband, Benji Madden, experienced the joy of becoming parents for the first time. This news spread like wildfire on the internet and became a hot topic of conversation, especially regarding late motherhood. Diaz’s journey gave hope to women who had given up on the idea of having a baby.

Although the actress prefers to keep her private life, well, private, her close circle revealed that the couple went through years of trying before finally welcoming their daughter, Raddix. “They went through so much to get to this point,” a source shared.

Diaz mentions that she dedicated more than half of her life to the public, and now she feels it’s time to take a step back and focus on herself. She is happy, blessed, and grateful to enter a new decade as a mother. One of her main goals now is to protect her little one.

Cherishing the Moments

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Diaz confessed that spending time with her daughter feels like a slice of heaven. And looking at her fresh and peaceful appearance, we believe her. Diaz treasures each moment because every day brings new leaps and bounds in her daughter’s growth. As she beautifully puts it, “she’s not the same baby she was yesterday.”

She further explains that she and Benji never experienced such profound joy before. Witnessing her daughter’s growth and being an active participant in shaping her identity is immensely gratifying for Diaz. She playfully jokes that her phone is no longer filled with pictures of dogs and their poop (yes, she has four dogs). Now, it’s all about capturing precious moments with her little one.

The Pressure of Late Motherhood

In an interview with Naomi Campbell, Diaz opens up about finding balance in life. She acknowledges that many people start their families at a younger age, whereas she is embracing motherhood in the second half of her life. She finally appreciates the privacy it brings. However, even in late motherhood, there is still some pressure. Diaz remarks with irony, “I have to be, like, 107. So, no pressure!”

Despite the pressure, Diaz firmly believes that this is her sweet spot and the happiest time of her life. It surpasses all her previous experiences of traveling and working. “Having a family when you’re young, it’s like anything when you’re young, you do it. But when you’re my age and you decide to do it, it’s a real choice. You really have to work hard for it.”

During the interview, Campbell observes that Diaz looks more beautiful and happier than ever before. She has finally found the balance in her life.
