Martha Stewart Makes History on the Cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

Martha Stewart, the 81-year-old lifestyle expert, has made her debut on the cover of the renowned Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. This is a historic moment, as Stewart becomes the oldest person ever to grace the cover of the iconic publication. She shares this honor with three other cover models: Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and Brooks Nader.

“When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,” Stewart expressed. “And although I don’t think much about my age, I felt this was historic.”

Stewart traveled to the Dominican Republic for her photo session, which she described as a “challenge.” However, she believed she rose to the occasion. Sporting ten different outfits, the magazine ultimately chose a picture of her in a white bathing suit with a plunging neckline and an orange shawl over her shoulders for the cover shot.

Despite her groundbreaking achievement, Stewart emphasizes that age does not define her daily activities. Instead, she believes that what truly matters is what people do, how they think, and how they behave, regardless of their age.

In a recent interview with InStyle, Stewart discussed being seen as a “bona fide sex symbol” despite her age. She stated, “I’m an educator. I want to demonstrate to others that you can look fantastic.” She also expressed her belief that sharing her popular thirst traps on social media is pointless.

Martha Stewart’s perspective on aging and her ability to defy societal expectations should serve as an example for all of us. Age does not determine one’s potential for friendship, success, or looking and feeling fabulous.
