Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis Hold Hands on ‘Freaky Friday 2’ Set as Sequel Begins Filming

Walt Disney Studios confirmed that the sequel will be in theaters in 2025

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are back at it, and it’s time to celebrate!

Over 20 years after their charming 2003 comedy, Freaky Friday, Lohan, now 37, and Curtis, 65, are seen smiling and holding hands in a delightful new photo from the set of Freaky Friday 2. In a sweet gesture, they swapped places, sitting on the steps of each other’s trailers.

Walt Disney Studios shared the news on June 24, confirming that the much-anticipated sequel is now in production and is set to hit theaters in 2025.

Back in March, Lohan shared her excitement about the new film, explaining that the project was “in the process” and adding she was “excited to work with Jamie again and see how much further we can take it.”

“Because we talk almost every other day in general, I think we’re going to have a lot of fun with this,” Lohan added warmly.

During the 20th anniversary of the original Freaky Friday, the two stars reunited for an interview with The New York Times. Reflecting on their effortless friendship, they both had nothing but kind words for each other.

“We met in an office, did the read-through, and it was game on in a big way. I had to let go of every control mechanism and just let it fly,” Curtis recalled. “Lindsay was as fluid as I was. If you look at The Parent Trap, she has a facility as an actor that is really impressive. It was a big job. It was a big production. And our relationship was very easy.”

There’s certainly a lot to look forward to for fans of this iconic duo. Hold tight, and mark your calendars for the 2025 release date!
