Linda Evangelista: Overcoming Trauma and Embracing Self-Love

Linda Evangelista

Linda Evangelista, the iconic supermodel from the ’90s, has been keeping a low profile after a devastating experience with the CoolSculpting procedure. This rare side effect left her feeling “brutally disfigured” and “permanently deformed.” Understandably, Evangelista has since been cautious about forming close relationships with others. In a recent interview, the 58-year-old supermodel revealed that she hasn’t dated anyone since the incident and currently has no interest in doing so.

Contrary to what one might think, Evangelista is not withdrawing from the world because of self-consciousness. In her own words, she stated, “I don’t want to sleep with anybody anymore. I don’t want to hear somebody breathing.” It’s a personal choice she has made, and it’s important for us to respect and support her decision.

Evangelista took legal action, filing a $50 million lawsuit against Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc., the parent company of CoolSculpting. She has also undergone numerous corrective surgeries to address the physical damage caused by the procedure. Throughout this journey, she has been working on releasing her feelings of guilt. “I don’t blame myself anymore. I’m no longer hard on myself,” she shared. Although she still feels a slight impact from other people’s opinions, she is determined to not let it ruin her life.

Reflecting on her past, Evangelista admitted, “I know now that I didn’t do anything wrong. For the longest time, I thought I did. I’m not completely rid of it, but I work hard at getting rid of the guilt and the shame.” She is grateful for the support she has received, expressing, “I wouldn’t have stayed locked up if I’d known how many people cared.”

It is disheartening to learn of Linda Evangelista’s struggle and how she felt compelled to hide away for so many years. Let us hope that, in due time, she will find solace and overcome the dark thoughts that have plagued her mind.
