Lainey Wilson Brings a Whole New Meaning to Hot Weather Leather in Bespoke Bell Bottoms: All About Her Look!

The country superstar turned to By The Namesake for a custom pair of leather flares which she debuted during a performance on ‘Today’ this week.

Hot weather won’t stop Lainey Wilson from wearing an all-leather ensemble.

Despite the sweltering summer heat, the country superstar looked chic, cool, and collected as she performed on ‘Today’ in a pair of black flared leather pants — her signature silhouette — and a matching leather vest with turquoise embroidery and fringe details.

The singer, 32, topped off her look with turquoise accessories, including a beaded statement necklace, cowboy hat, and an assortment of chunky rings. Her long, blonde hair was styled into loose waves.

As part of the Citi Concert Series, Wilson performed her hit song “Heart Like a Truck.” At one point, the singer brought a young fan on stage, holding her hand and serenading her while the crowd cheered.

Wilson’s bold leather bell bottoms were created by custom leather atelier By The Namesake. According to its website, the brand is “focused on re-inventing the custom leather jacket through customization.”

Rosa Halpern, the founder and designer behind By The Namesake, says that the singer’s pants were a spin on her label’s Louisa design.

“Working with Lainey and her team has been an amazing experience because she has her signature look and knows what she wants to wear,” Halpern says. “It’s fun to take our signature style (The Louisa’s) and dramatize them with some added flare (literally and figuratively!), which looks fabulous on Lainey!”

“Her signature style exudes perfection in perfectly tailored leather, something she wears so effortlessly,” the designer continues. “We are so happy to see how comfortably she can move and perform in various leather looks — be it our custom leather pants or the Petit Prince jacket she wore at the ACMs earlier this year too.”

Halpern also says that leather pants are a must-have in anyone’s closet.

“Leather pants are a closet staple because they can be dressed up or down seamlessly,” she says. “Especially when in black, you can wear them with ANYTHING and have a stylish outfit that’s both comfortable and chic.”

Wilson previously said that she began to develop her personal style after she moved to Nashville to pursue music. “I realized really quick that as a female in country music, it does not matter if you have a decent voice or if you’re a decent songwriter,” she said. “You gotta do something that is outside the box to get noticed,” she says. “I thought, ‘What could I wear that would make me feel like I could take on the whole dang world?’ For me, it was bell-bottoms.”

The singer shared that her mom Michelle bought her her first pair of bell-bottoms — a blue leopard print variety — when she was 8 or 9 years old.

“It was to the point where my mom was like, ‘Lainey, you gotta take ’em off. We gotta wash ’em,’” she recalled. “But I loved them. I loved the way that they made me feel. They made me feel sassy and like I could do anything.”

The Grammy-winner is currently traveling North America with her Country’s Cool Again tour and earlier this month, was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, a prestigious country music organization.

“As a little girl, I didn’t dream about my wedding day,” Wilson said in an emotional speech during the ceremony. “I didn’t dream about what song I’d play at my wedding, I dreamed about this right here. I dreamed about what song I would play in the circle if I got the opportunity.”
