Josh Lucas and his girlfriend Brianna Ruffalo are engaged! The actor, known for his roles in Yellowstone and Sweet Home Alabama, shared the joyous news on his Instagram account on Saturday, June 29.
The actor’s announcement included a series of touching videos capturing Brianna’s emotional reaction to the proposal. In the first video, she sits at a table, wiping tears from her eyes while a band plays in the background. A stunning diamond ring gleams on her finger as she smiles through her tears.
Another video shows the band performing an acoustic rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Lucas then panned the camera over to his fiancée, who held her hands to her face, giving viewers a closer look at her sparkling engagement ring.
In the caption of his post, Lucas expressed his deep affection for Brianna, writing, “For the last 2 years in Every Way and Every Day this beautiful soul has made me and my life better, deeper, and more whole.” Accompanying his heartfelt words was a lovely photo of the couple embracing in front of some vibrant purple flowers.
Brianna also celebrated their engagement on her own Instagram account. She posted a video showcasing the same moments Luke had shared, including her tear-filled reaction and a close-up of the engagement ring. Additionally, she shared a still shot of her hand with the ring and a smiling Lucas sitting across from her at a restaurant table.

While the couple hasn’t revealed the exact location of their engagement, they have been vacationing together in Italy, where Brianna has been exploring her Italian heritage. Earlier this week, she shared a series of beautiful photos from their trip to Positano, including shots of the couple, serene pools, scenic beaches, and breathtaking Italian landscapes.
She captioned the photos, “Back to the motherland 🥰 favorite place with my favorite guy. Despite her clear adoration for Lucas, Brianna revealed earlier this year that she wouldn’t choose his Sweet Home Alabama character if given the option. During a conversation with E! News at the premiere of Lucas’ movie Palm Royale in March, she admitted that she and Lucas don’t often watch the 2002 romantic comedy in which he starred alongside Reese Witherspoon and Patrick Dempsey. Her reason? “I’m team Patrick Dempsey,” she humorously confessed.
Nevertheless, she frequently shares her love for Lucas on social media. On his birthday, June 20, she posted a series of photos of Lucas and the couple together, wishing him a happy birthday and describing him as, “my honey, my guy, my best friend. A man steadfast in his love, priorities and dedication. Always a ray of sunshine.”
Josh Lucas was previously married to Jessica Ciencin Henriquez from 2012 to 2014. They share a son, Noah Rev, who was born in June 2012.
