Jimmy Carter’s Condition After Rosalynn’s Memorial Service

Jimmy Carter

Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, made a rare public appearance at the memorial service for his late wife, Rosalynn Carter. The former president, dressed in a dark suit and tie, entered hospice care earlier this year after refusing further treatment. Despite his own health struggles, Jimmy was by Rosalynn’s side during her final hours.

Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter had spent nearly their entire lives together since they first met as children in Plains, Georgia. So it was only fitting that they were together during Rosalynn’s last moments on Earth. Though her passing at the age of 96 was not unexpected, it has been widely celebrated by thousands around the world.

Rosalynn passed away at their home in Plains, Georgia on November 19. During her time as First Lady from 1977 to 1981, she carried out humanitarian work alongside her husband at the Carter Center. Both Rosalynn and Jimmy’s health has deteriorated over the past year, and now, with Rosalynn gone, concerns about Jimmy’s condition have grown.

Jason Carter, the grandson of Jimmy and Rosalynn, provided an update on his grandfather’s health prior to the memorial service. According to Jason, Jimmy is physically diminished and may not have much time left. He has been a moral rock for many people throughout his life, but Rosalynn was his rock. Her absence will undoubtedly have a profound impact on him.

During the memorial service, their daughter Amy Carter read a letter that Jimmy had written to Rosalynn while serving in the Navy. It was a beautiful declaration of love, expressing how much he cherished her.

Rest in peace, Rosalynn Carter. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Carter family during this difficult time.
