During an episode of their Facebook Live show, “Live with The Biebers,” Hailey addressed the topic when a fan asked how they manage being a couple with everyone having an opinion. Hailey didn’t hold back and shared her feelings about being constantly compared to Justin’s past relationships.
“I’ve had a really hard time with a lot of the things people say and the comparisons that have made me feel like less of a woman,” Hailey revealed. “It’s not easy, especially when people have passionate fans who want to express their opinions.”
Since their reconciliation, Hailey and Justin have faced criticism from fans who wanted to see him back with his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez. Hailey explained that people think they know everything about their relationship and what happened in Justin’s life, but the reality is far from it.
“People invent details that they think are true, but they really aren’t,” Hailey expressed. “I reached a point where I question why I should try to set the record straight when it’s nobody’s business and it doesn’t really matter.”
She emphasized that there is a lot that people don’t know about what goes on behind the scenes. Despite her famous last name, Hailey felt like she had a sense of normalcy before marrying Justin. However, that all changed when she moved to Los Angeles and experienced a whole new level of public scrutiny.
“While I believe in maintaining a sense of balance and not isolating myself completely, it’s been a struggle for me,” Hailey shared. “I don’t think it’s healthy to avoid leaving the house just because you know people will follow you with cameras.”
