The parents were once spotted with signs that read ‘Stop trying to make Glen Powell happen’ and ‘It’s never gonna happen’
Glen Powell’s parents are showing their support in style!
The actor, 35, has been busy celebrating the release of his new Netflix film Hit Man, which premiered on May 24. His parents – Glen Powell Sr. and Cyndy Powell – have joined in on the fun, too.
On Sunday, June 23, Powell posted a photo on Instagram showing his mother and father in matching jackets inspired by the movie. They donned black jackets with “Hit Dad” and “Hit Mom” written on the back in yellow print.
“Tracksuit Safari,” the actor wrote in the caption of his post, which featured other images of his family wearing the matching attire.
Powell’s parents aren’t strangers to the spotlight. They have made cameos in several of their son’s films and were last spotted as airline passengers in the 2023 rom-com Anyone But You.
The two trolled their son in the early press days of Hit Man, which he also co-wrote, and were photographed on the red carpet with signs that read “Stop trying to make Glen Powell happen” and “It’s never gonna happen.”
Earlier this month, the actor reflected on the advice his parents, who have been married for more than 40 years, gave to him about romance.
While on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Powell said, “You know they do give me love advice because I do think love surviving that long in this world is really tough. I think you do have to have some tricks.”
He continued, “I think for them the thing that they always tell me is, ‘You gotta find somebody with a sense of humor.’ You know, life is inevitably gonna have highs and lows but you always have to have somebody that can see the silver lining, the bright side of things and just the humor whether it’s good or bad.”
Directed and co-written by Richard Linklater, the dark comedy follows Powell as a part-time staffer with the New Orleans Police Department who goes undercover as a hitman to catch criminals. He ends up falling for a woman who is attempting to kill her abusive husband.
The movie is based on the true story about former college professor Gary Johnson.
