For the first time, Priscilla Presley discusses the heartbreaking death of her daughter Lisa Marie.

Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley’s only child, died on Thursday, according to a family spokesperson. Her birth year was 1954.

“It is with a sad heart that I must convey the heartbreaking news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement obtained by the AP. “She was the most ardent, powerful, and loving woman I’d ever known.”

The Presley family is “shocked and devastated by the sudden demise of their beloved Lisa Marie,” according to Priscilla Presley’s representative Sam Mast.

Mast said they appreciate everyone’s love, support, and prayers and ask for privacy during this difficult time.

Priscilla Presley said earlier on Thursday that her daughter had been brought to the hospital via social media.

Before her daughter’s death was made public, Priscilla Presley stated, “My dear daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital.” “She is currently receiving the greatest possible care. Please remember to pray for her and our family. We request privacy because we are aware of prayers worldwide.”

Lisa Marie Presley applauded Austin Butler’s success as best actor in a drama film for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in the Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic “Elvis” at the 80th Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday in Beverly Hills, California. She and her mother attended the occasion.

The singer-songwriter is the only child of entrepreneur and actress Priscilla Presley and singer-actor Elvis Presley. When she reached 25 in 1993, she got her father’s estate.

Lisa Marie Presley was married four times, most famously to actor Nicolas Cage from 2002 to 2004 and too late to music phenomenon Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996.

She married guitarist Danny Keough in 1988, and they had a daughter named Riley and a son named Benjamin, who died. Benjamin committed suicide at the age of 27 in July 2020.

Last year, during the hype around Baz Luhrmann’s film, Lisa Marie Presley issued an update on her post-death son’s survival.

“I am and will always be grieving the loss of my child,” she wrote.

Navigating through this terrible suffering has eaten me whole, completely wrecked me, and broken my heart and soul to virtually nothing.”

Riley Keough is a well-known actress who will be seen in the upcoming film “Zola.” She made her directorial debut with the 2022 film “War Pony,” which won the Cannes Film Festival’s Caméra d’Or.

Lisa Marie Presley married Michael Lockwood in 2006. Theirs was her longest marriage, ending in divorce in July 2021. Harper and Finley, the former couple’s twin daughters, are one of their two children together.

She followed in her father’s footsteps, releasing the album “To Whom It May Concern” in 2003, which includes the song “Savior,” which she co-wrote with Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. She also released two additional albums, “What Now” in 2005 and “Storm & Grace” in 2012.
