Dolly Parton discusses how she and her husband, Carl Dean, have managed to keep the romance alive after 57 years of marriage.

Dolly Parton is renowned for her glam public appearance, and the singer claims she enjoys dressing up at home as well, even when it’s just her and Carl Dean, her husband of 57 years.

In an interview from 2022, Parton confesses, “I like to dress up for Carl.”

“I put on makeup and do my hair daily because I believe everyone will see me dressed up since I am out in public. I won’t just flop on him when I get home.”

After over 60 years of marriage, Parton and Dean have seen almost everything about one another. She works just as hard on her appearance for her advantage as her husband, claims the singer.

She says he would still adore me, but I need to look my best.

When asked if that’s the secret to keeping her marriage interesting after all these years, Parton replies, “Well, I think it helps!” and adds, “Nobody wants to make out with a slouch.”

“I suppose that keeping things interesting and spicy helps.”

The country diva, who was just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will release her maiden rock album, Rock Star, in November. The record features a who’s who of the genre. Parton is renowned for maintaining a “spicy” work environment.

The legend unveiled the album’s opening tune, “World on Fire,” while she and Garth Brooks were co-hosting the 2023 ACM Awards.
