Disturbing Steven Tyler Health Update Confirms the Rumors – And It’s What We Feared

Aerosmith fans were left disappointed this week as the band had to cancel six of their final tour dates. Steven Tyler, the lead singer, took to Instagram to announce that he is facing severe damage to his vocal cords and has been advised by doctors to stop singing for the next 30 days. This means that the September 12 Toronto event, September 15 Chicago show, September 18 Detroit show, September 21 Raleigh show, and September 27 Washington D.C. show have all been postponed until early 2024.

In a heartfelt statement on social media, Tyler shared, “To all our fans, I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”

Aerosmith reassured fans that all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend. Fans with questions about refunds can reach out to their point of purchase.

Peace Out: The Farewell Tour, consisting of 40 dates, was initially planned to take place between September 2 and January 26. However, due to the postponements, the tour will now finish at a later date, with Aerosmith planning to resume touring on Monday, October 11.

It’s commendable that the band is embarking on this final tour considering the respective ages of its members. Steven Tyler turned 75 years old in March, and the toll of a 40-show tour on his body is unimaginable. However, it’s not surprising that he’s willing to go the extra mile, given his selfless character.

In 2019, Tyler helped establish “Janie’s House,” a home for abused and neglected girls. He donated $500,000 towards renovating the suitable 82-acre building located just outside of Memphis. Inspired by Aerosmith’s hit 1989 song “Janie’s Got a Gun,” the house provides a safe space for women in need.

Let’s all hope for a speedy recovery for Steven Tyler so that he can get back on his feet and continue doing what he does best!
