Meet Pui, the four-legged hero from Bangkok who recently made an astonishing find while on one of his daily strolls. This ginger Thai Bangkaew dog, known for his friendly demeanor, stumbled upon a peculiar stuffed plastic bag in a streetside dump.
With a sense of intrigue, Pui gently clutched the handles of the bag between his teeth and carried his mysterious treasure back home to his family. Little did they know, this would be a discovery that would shock them all.
A Surprise Package
Upon returning home, Pui placed the bag on the patio and began barking loudly to get his owner’s attention. Curious, Sudarat, Thongmak’s 12-year-old niece, joined Pui on the deck to unveil the contents within. What they found left them astounded – a newborn baby, with her umbilical cord still attached.
Quickly realizing the gravity of the situation, Sudarat’s parents rushed the fragile infant to the hospital. Doctors determined that she had been born prematurely, weighing a mere 4 pounds 8 ounces at around seven months gestation. Despite the difficult circumstances, the baby received immediate medical treatment and managed to survive this tragic ordeal.
“It’s lucky that little Pui found the baby. It was a surprise to us, since little Pui never brought anything home, only barking at strangers when he’s out and about,” expressed Pummarat, Sudarat’s mother, who even considered adopting the child. “Must be destiny that brought us together.”
Pui’s heroic act earned him recognition in the community. He was awarded a leather collar and a medal from the local Red Cross Chapter, and his family received a $300 reward to support not only Pui but also their three other adorable dogs. The story touched the hearts of many, but the fate of the baby and her mother remains unknown.
