Alan and Denise Jackson are grateful for many things as they prepare to enjoy Christmas and the New Year. On Friday, December 15th, the couple celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary and welcomed their first grandchild two days earlier.
Alan and Denise met in high school and married on December 15, 1979, when Alan was 21 and Denise were 19. The couple separated over two decades later, but they never divorced and finally reconciled – they’ve been happily married ever since.
They have three daughters: Mattie Denise Selecman (born in 1990), Alexandra Jane “Ali” Selecman (born in 1993), and Dani Grace Selecman (born in 1995). (born in 1997). Ali is the third child. Denise and Alan become grandparents, but she is the first of her siblings to give birth.
Alan Jackson shared images of him and his wife cradling the baby on Instagram to celebrate the happy news. The two were sitting on a couch, the infant in Denise’s arms, Alan in his renowned Cowboy hat around them. The ‘grandparent glow’ had returned.
“With our new grandson Jackson Alvie Bradshaw, Denise and I are celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary. Ali and Sam welcomed Jack into the world on December 13, 2022. I can’t believe this little guy has made us grandparents!” Alan wrote in the caption. They’ve been anticipating this moment for quite some time.
Alan had just published another photo of himself and his wife, commemorating their 43-year marriage. “Everyone, please wish Alan and Denise a Happy Anniversary!” the singer said in the caption, as hundreds of fans left comments wishing them a wonderful day.
The announcement comes around three weeks after Alan Jackson shared a photo of his family in front of their big fireplace – a photo that displayed Ali’s baby belly, which has since vanished. Alan posed with his wife, three daughters, and their three significant others. Oh, and their two dogs were there as well.
Alan Jackson has had a successful 40-year career in the music industry, having released 16 studio albums, three ‘Greatest Hits’ albums, two gospel albums, and two Christmas albums. Few musicians have sold 75 million records worldwide, 44 million of which were in the United States.
As a result, Alan Jackson got the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Country Music Awards, which Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan presented. It is bestowed upon “an iconic singer who has attained the highest level of recognition in Country Music.”
“I’ve had a fantastic team of songwriters who have supported me throughout my career. I am fortunate to have had all of that to help me go this far. “I can’t thank everyone who has been in my life throughout the years, but I have to thank my wife Denise, who is somewhere over there,” he added in his remarks.
Over the last two decades, Jackson has been inducted into three Halls of Fame: the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2001, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018, and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019. “I’ve lived the American dream,” he continued, adding that he still is.
