Little Orphan Prays in Church for Mom to Come for Him, ‘I’ll Take You,’ He Hears One Day

A little orphaned boy sits in a church pew, tears filling his eyes as he pleads with God to send his mother to come for him. Just then, a voice behind him breaks the silence, saying, “I’ll take you.”

Many children face the heartache of growing up without parents, and Alan, at just six years old, was one of them. Every day was a reminder of his longing for a mother he barely remembered.

On a fateful day in church, Alan’s cries filled the silent space. He prayed sincerely, sharing his innocent yet profound dreams with God. He spoke of how much brighter his world would be if his mom could be with him.

In the midst of his heartfelt pleas, a voice suddenly responded, offering exactly what he hoped for…

“Dear Jesus,” Alan began, “everyone says you hear all prayers. My foster guardians tell me to ask you for everything I need. Please… I just want my mommy. Can you send her to me?”

“Alan, my boy! I’ve come for you. I’ve come to take you home.”

His little hands clasped together in prayer, Alan sobbed beneath the crucifix, reddened eyes and damp cheeks reflecting his desperation.

“Nanny said you listen to every prayer, but why not mine?”

The church echoed Alan’s cries, his heartbreak laid bare for everyone around. Alan dreaded returning to the shelter, where teasing from other children was relentless. They often reminded him that no one would want a “crying baby” like him.

“Why doesn’t anyone want to bring me home?” he wondered. Furious tears continued to stream down his cheeks, almost demanding answers from above.

“Alan, hush,” gently urged his guardian, Nancy. “This is a church. It’s meant to be a quiet place. Try to calm down, dear.”

Trying his best, Alan held back his tears, staring once more at the crucifix. His attention was momentarily drawn to a woman with a child entering the church. Unable to hold back, he began to cry once more.

“Jesus, why aren’t you listening?” he whispered. “I want my mommy, just like that girl has. Nancy, why won’t He answer me? You said He hears us all, but I hear nothing.”

Nancy smiled warmly at the sincerity of his questions.

Then, unexpectedly, a gentle voice from behind them reached their ears. “I’ll take you,” it said. “I’m here for you, my dear. Please don’t cry.”

Startled, Alan and Nancy turned to see the woman with the child, who stood smiling at them.

She dropped to her knees, tears filling her eyes as well, whispering, “Alan, my boy! I’ve come for you. I’ve come to take you home.”

“Who are you?” Nancy asked cautiously, holding Alan protectively. “How do you know his name?”

The woman replied, “I’m Annette. I come to see Alan every day from a distance, just to make sure he’s alright. I’m his mother.”

“Prove it,” Nancy demanded softly. “How can we believe you?”

Annette pulled out a worn photograph of herself cradling a newborn. Her voice trembled, “Six years ago, I left him on the shelter’s doorstep, unable to care for him.”

“Why?” Nancy pressed. “Why abandon your own child?”

Through tears, Annette shared her story. At sixteen, pregnant and abandoned by her boyfriend, she faced pressure. Her parents demanded she either leave the baby or lose her inheritance.

She chose to leave her child, believing it was best, then continued with her life. She finished her education, got married and had another child, Amy. Yet, her son never left her mind.

“I watched him from afar,” she confessed, “until today when his cries pulled me to his side.”

Determined to reunite, Annette pursued custody through a DNA test, which confirmed their bond. Alan returned home, but Annette paid a steep price.

Her parents disowned her, her inheritance revoked. Her husband, feeling betrayed, divorced her, unwilling to raise another’s child, though he promised to support their daughter.

Annette and her husband parted ways, but she cherished the reunion with her son. She embraced her new life wholeheartedly, determined to provide the love and care her son deserved.

With Alan and Amy by her side, Annette moved overseas, pursuing opportunities for a brighter future. Her heart swelled with hope, finally feeling a complete family.

This story is a reminder of the lengths a mother’s love can travel and the sacrifices one might make to reunite with loved ones.
