Nicholas Pryor, Star of ‘Risky Business’ and ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’, Passes Away at 89

Nicholas Pryor, a cherished actor celebrated for his roles in “Risky Business” and “Beverly Hills, 90210,” has sadly passed away at the age of 89. His agent, Susan Tolar Walters, shared the news that Pryor succumbed to cancer at his home in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Born on January 28, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland, Nicholas Pryor embarked on his acting journey in 1961 with an appearance in “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.” His career took a remarkable turn when he gained recognition for his role as Tom Cruise’s father in the iconic 1983 film “Risky Business,” directed by Paul Brickman.

Pryor’s career spanned both film and television, showcasing his versatility as an actor. Apart from “Risky Business,” he left an indelible mark with performances in films such as “The Falcon and the Snowman,” “The Happy Hooker,” “Collateral Damage,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1,” and the thriller “Doctor Sleep.”

In the world of television, Pryor was widely recognized for his portrayal of A. Milton Arnold in “Beverly Hills, 90210” from 1994 to 1997. His character dynamics with his on-screen daughter, played by Kathleen Robertson, captivated audiences. Pryor also appeared in a range of popular TV series, including “Another World,” “NYPD Blue,” “The Bronx Zoo,” “Constantine,” “Nashville,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” and “The Outsider.”
