30 Jobs That People Once Respected But Realized Are Done By Awful People

Blame it on a few bad apples—or in some cases, an entire orchard of them! Grab some popcorn and let’s dive into the professions that have fallen from grace.

According to a 2023 Ipsos survey, doctors, scientists, and teachers remain the most trusted professionals. But, lurking at the bottom, we find journalists, business leaders, advertising executives, government ministers, and general politicians. Yikes, tough crowd.

Reddit user OnAFalseErrand ignited a fiery discussion about which jobs have lost respect over time. User comments poured in, revealing stories and opinions that illuminate why these roles might be losing their sheen. Buckle up!

It’s astounding how many professions, once deemed noble and respectable, have shriveled under the weight of corruption, negligence, or plain old bad behavior. Whether it’s journalists failing to tell the whole story or vet bills soaring sky-high, we’re living in a world where looking up to certain professions is getting harder. My two cents? Take every profession with a grain of salt, and do your homework. Stay skeptical, folks!
