When the Storm Clouds Gather
When I was a young man, many moons ago, times weren’t much different from today, believe it or not. Sure, we didn’t have smartphones or smart TVs, but we had our own set of troubles. One instance stands out clearly in my memory. It was during the early ’80s, the economy was in the dumps, and my job security was about as stable as a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest. I was supporting a young family, bills were piling up faster than you can say “interest rate,” and yet I had no discernible way out.
My wife, God bless her soul, always kept a smile on her face and a prayer in her heart.
