Trooper Responds to Call About Abandoned Dog, Ends Up Adopting Him

Police officers are always ready to help those in need, including animals, but one trooper went above and beyond in assisting an abandoned dog.

Trooper Kayla Moore, from the Michigan State Police’s Gaylord Post, recently answered a call about an abandoned dog, as stated in a release from the department.

Moore picked up the stranded dog and drove her to the shelter. Along the way, they began forming a special connection. “Trooper Moore and the dog seemed to be a perfect match,” MSP shared on Twitter.

Upon reaching the Antrim County Animal Shelter, Moore wasn’t ready to part ways just yet. Feeling that fate had brought them together, she submitted an application to adopt this lovely dog herself.

She named the dog Rosie and provided her with a loving forever home—a heartwarming conclusion to their story.

MSP Seventh District mentioned that Rosie was from a litter of dogs their canine teams had been actively searching for. She was one of many dogs recently abandoned in that area.

The department encouraged people to consider adopting the other available shelter dogs.

This is such a touching story – knowing that Rosie has found a loving home is wonderful. It truly seems like it was destiny.
