Money can’t buy true happiness, so despite a $400 million fortune, Arnold Schwarzenegger lives a low-key life on his farm

Arnold Schwarzenegger, now 75, is not just an actor; he’s a hands-on guy who enjoys taking care of his home and animals. Additionally, he’s embraced the role of grandfather with open arms.

In 2021, reports estimated Arnold’s net worth at a staggering $400 million. That kind of money affords him a beautiful mansion in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood. This luxurious home, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and canyons, is where Arnold has lived with his family.

The Mediterranean-style estate is expansive, covering over 2.5 acres in one of the city’s most exclusive communities.

Arnold’s home boasts seven bedrooms and bathrooms, making it the perfect place for his five children, Joseph Baena, Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher Schwarzenegger, to visit. The house is filled with impressive features, including several living rooms, a chef’s kitchen, a private gym, and entertainment areas.

Outside, you’ll find a tennis court, a large swimming pool with a spa, and even a duck pond. The outdoor areas feature balconies and patios with serene views of the beach and mountains.

The spacious property also offers ample room for Arnold’s pets, such as his pony Whiskey and his miniature donkey, Lulu, who even have their own stable.

Arnold’s backyard is a perfect playground for his pets, with an open field where they can roam freely.

In 2020, Arnold gave a glimpse into his home life during the COVID-19 lockdown. He posted a video showing himself with Whiskey and Lulu in the kitchen. The video also featured his backyard patio with a vast grassy field, highlighting the spaces where Arnold enjoys the outdoors regardless of the weather.

After separating from his wife, Maria Shriver, Arnold moved to a place close to his family home to remain near his children.

Arnold, who shares Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher with Maria, and Joseph with his former staff member, Mildred Baena, may be wealthy, but he still handles many household tasks himself.

Arnold’s Daily Routine and Ordinary Life

In 2014, Arnold posted a photo on Facebook showing him pushing a full cart at Walmart. He shared that he saw his product line, Muscle Pharm Arnold Series, on the shelves and came up with an idea.

He challenged his fans to find the products in-store, take photos, and share them with him. Arnold would then post the best pictures.

Arnold has often been spotted shopping at Walmart. In 2011, during a film shoot in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he caused quite a stir when he went to get healthy snacks at 2 a.m., even spending $300 on warm clothes for his crew.

In February 2022, Arnold shared his morning routine on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” He described getting up around 5:45 or 6 a.m. to tend to his “complaining animals.”

The first hour of his day was devoted to feeding them. Lulu, in particular, would “scream” for attention. Once his animals were fed and allowed to run around on the grass, Arnold would put them back in their stalls.

Alongside Whiskey and Lulu, Arnold has Dutch, a large dog, and a puppy that demands attention. The dogs would growl or bite his toes if they weren’t fed! Arnold jokes that if he didn’t take care of his animals, they’d wake up his neighbors with their noise!

Ironically, Arnold finds these chores to be fun and therapeutic. He often brings Whiskey and Lulu into the house, feeding them oatmeal cookies in the kitchen. Even though the cookies are meant for horses, Arnold humorously admits that they taste so good he eats them too!

Visitors might be surprised by the dogs jumping on them and Lulu running through the house, demanding cookies. Arnold shared a funny incident when his cousin visited before Christmas in 2021. She was caught off-guard by Lulu running into the house and demanding cookies.

Arnold also talks about his daughter Katherine’s protective nature when it comes to her kids. Whenever he holds his granddaughter Lyla, Katherine gets anxious, thinking he’s doing it wrong.

How Arnold’s Life Changed When He Became a Grandfather

In 2022, Arnold became a grandfather for the second time when daughter Katherine and her husband, Chris Pratt, welcomed their second child, Eloise Christina. Arnold finds grandparenting easy and delightful.

When Lyla Maria, his oldest granddaughter, visits, Arnold enjoys spending an hour or two playing with her. They play with the dog, and he even puts her on the pony. After a couple of hours, the little one goes home with her parents.

Arnold has a fantastic time when they visit and is proud of his daughter and son-in-law. He cherishes the moments spent with them, saying: “When they come over, the whole house lights up.”

Since 2021, Lyla has visited Arnold’s Los Angeles home multiple times. She even got to sit on Whiskey and Lulu, and Arnold believes she will be an excellent horseback rider.

Arnold hasn’t changed Lyla’s diaper, leaving that expertise to Katherine. He shares amusingly that Katherine gets frantic about him holding the baby wrong, and they end up playfully bickering about it.
