Jennifer Garner Plays ‘Pool, Spoons and Goggles’ Game with Her Kid: ‘My Recipe for a Good Time’

Jennifer Garner loves to share her fun family moments, and her latest video is no exception.

On Sunday, July 7, the 52-year-old actress posted a delightful video on Instagram, where she explained a unique and amusing backyard pool game she enjoys playing with one of her kids.

Garner, known for her roles in beloved movies and series, shared these heartwarming moments where she gets to be a fun, hands-on mom.

In the video, Garner jovially demonstrated her favorite poolside game. She wrote in her caption, “If you have access to a pool, spoons, and goggles—please borrow my recipe for a good time. Kid not required. ⏱️♥️🥄,” all set to the lively tune of “Mr. Blue Sky” by the Electric Light Orchestra.

“It’s the best game. We throw our spoons, three spoons each and we start the stopwatch,” Garner explained as she held up three metal spoons in the pool. “We each have to go and collect three spoons but in different parts and come back and turn off the stopwatch.”

Garner shared her playfulness and strategies with her kids, such as deciding which way to swim to collect the spoons. “There’s strategy, Mo,” she said, referencing one of her kids.

She continued to banter with her child, adjusting their tactics mid-game, before finally setting the stopwatch. “Wait, you’re going which way? Lord, have mercy,” she added with a laugh.

As the game began, Garner could be heard encouraging her kid, “I got it, go,” and then checking the results of their race against the clock. “We’ve got a lot of work to do,” she concluded with a playful sigh when they didn’t meet their goal immediately.

It’s no surprise that Jennifer Garner’s engaging and down-to-earth parenting style has won the hearts of many. Her fun poolside game is just one more reason why her followers admire her authenticity.

This summer pool fun came after she recently expressed gratitude to her children’s teachers, emphasizing the community’s role in raising her kids. “A little gratitude for our wonderful family elementary school at the end of 13 years together applies to all educators,” Garner captioned another post.

In her heartfelt note, she continued, “Thank you for disciplining my kids when they’ve needed it and for offering more hugs than some children receive in a lifetime. Thank you for all of the hard work that goes into having high expectations, for buckling down and teaching them the discomfort and joy of tolerating frustration toward a greater good.”

Jennifer Garner’s joy in sharing these moments brings a smile to many faces. Whether it’s about showing appreciation to teachers or having a blast with her children, she exemplifies a love and warmth that’s relatable and inspiring to all.
