John Travolta shares sweet throwback pic with rescue dog Peanut: “She’s brought the biggest joy to our family”

We all love hearing heartwarming stories about celebrities adopting rescue dogs. One story that stands out is the beautiful bond between John Travolta and his adorable dog, Peanut. You might remember seeing Peanut during the Academy Awards in 2022, featured in a special tribute to the late Betty White. That night, it was evident that the Grease star had found a new companion.

Now, more than two years later, it’s clear that Peanut has become an inseparable part of the Travolta family. Recently, John Travolta took to social media to share a delightful throwback picture, highlighting just how much joy Peanut has brought into their lives.

On June 22, Travolta posted a sweet throwback photo of himself holding Peanut backstage at the Oscars in 2022.

“The day we adopted Peanut on Oscar night!” Travolta wrote. “She’s brought the biggest joy to our family.”

It was an unforgettable meeting for both of them: Travolta first encountered Peanut, then known as Mac N Cheese, when the rescue dog was brought on stage by actress Jamie Lee Curtis.

This touching scene took place during the Oscars’ “in memoriam” segment, which honors those in Hollywood who have passed away over the year. The tribute was especially poignant as Curtis remembered Betty White, who had passed away just weeks earlier.

To honor White’s legacy as an advocate for animals, Curtis carried Peanut, who was up for adoption from Paw Works, onto the stage.

“She was not only a Golden Girl, she was a legend who brightened every room she walked in and brought a smile to the faces of all who watched her on the screen,” Curtis said. “And day in and day out for almost a century, she was a woman who cared so much for not just her two-legged friends but for animals just like this.”

“So the greatest gift you could give Betty White is to open your heart and your home and adopt a rescue dog just like Mac-N-Cheese from Paw Works. So thank you, Betty, thank you for being a friend to us all.”

The little dog charmed audiences everywhere — and captured the heart of Travolta. Backstage, he caught up with Curtis, his friend and co-star from the 1985 film Perfect, and couldn’t resist taking a photo with the sweet rescue dog.

Recognizing a match made in heaven, Travolta decided to adopt the dog for his son, Benjamin, giving Peanut a real “Hollywood ending.”

In the years that followed, the bond between Travolta and Peanut has only grown stronger. The actor has shared numerous photos of their special moments together, highlighting their deep connection.

One post shows the Saturday Night Fever star sharing a slice of pizza with Peanut and cuddling up in bed. Another heartwarming picture has Peanut waking up Travolta with a kiss.

It’s obvious that Peanut is showered with love, and fans along with Hollywood colleagues agree that she’s one fortunate pup.

“Peanut hit the jackpot with the Travolta family!” one fan commented.

“I wonder if she knows she’s JOHN TRAVOLTA’s DOG?!!!!!” another wrote.

“She is such a sweet fur baby. I can see how much your family loves her,” another comment reads.

Thank you to John Travolta and his family for taking in this lovable dog! It’s evident that Peanut found her perfect home, filling it with joy and love. ❤️
