Alex and Mauricio’s pregnancy marks the first grandchild for the Food Network star.
Ree Drummond is about to step into a new chapter of her life – becoming a grandmother!
Her daughter Alex Drummond, 26, and her husband Mauricio Scott have announced via Instagram that they are expecting their first baby.
“We can’t wait to meet you, little one. Baby Scott joining the party this winter!” Alex and Mauricio excitedly shared in their post. They also expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thank you, Lord, for this precious gift,” along with some heartwarming photos. One of the pictures shows their dog, sporting a bandana that reads “Big Brother,” amidst sonogram images and smiles all around.
For Ree Drummond, this will be her first grandchild, and she is clearly thrilled. Ree commented under the announcement with, “Beyond happy for you two!! (And for the whole family!) Love you, Alex and Mauricio!”
Alex’s sister Paige also could not contain her emotions, posting, “So happy I could cry. Can’t wait to be an auntie!!! I love you guys so much.”
Alex and Mauricio’s journey together began when they got engaged in 2020 and tied the knot on May 21, 2021, at the Drummonds’ Oklahoma ranch. The wedding was filled with joy, especially as Alex’s father, Ladd Drummond, was able to be there after recovering from a truck collision just months before.
“[My dad] actually got clearance from his doctor the Thursday before the wedding to take off his neck brace for some of the special wedding day moments,” Alex shared later, highlighting how meaningful his presence without the brace was for the family.
Though they celebrated their first wedding anniversary in 2022, Alex mentioned earlier that year that they were not in a rush to have children. “I think we’re taking our time, not rushing into it, trying to enjoy being married for a little bit,” she said.
In January 2023, the couple expanded their family by adopting a dog named George. Alex shared the joyous moment on Instagram, writing, “Our hearts will never be the same! Welcome to the fam, George.”
Ree couldn’t help but humorously respond, “I’m a GRANDMOTHER!!!!” acknowledging the new addition to the family.
Alex shared a series of pictures of George bonding with his new family members. The photos depict George enjoying car rides, midday naps, and cuddling with Alex and Mauricio.
It seems like the Drummond-Scott household is set for a year full of new beginnings and joyous celebrations. With Alex and Mauricio expecting their bundle of joy, Ree Drummond is ready to embrace her new role as Grandma, bringing even more love and warmth to their already tight-knit family.
