Woman Attacked by Polar Bear at Berlin Zoo After Jumping into Enclosure

A 32-year-old woman had a terrifying encounter on Friday when she jumped into a polar bear enclosure at the Berlin Zoo during feeding time. The bears attacked her, leaving her with multiple injuries before she could be rescued.

The woman, known only as Mandy K, remarkably scaled a fence, crossed a line of hedges, and climbed over a wall to enter the bears’ domain.

As she leaped over the bars into the enclosure, the bears were being fed. Mandy sustained severe injuries to her arms, legs, and back as one of the bears began biting her. Despite the brave efforts of six zookeepers who worked to distract the four predators, one bear managed to repeatedly bite her on her extremities. The zookeepers were finally able to scare the bear away and save her.

Following her rescue, Mandy was rushed to the hospital where she underwent surgery to repair her wounds. She is now in recovery. Further information revealed that Mandy is a teacher who had been experiencing severe distress due to her inability to secure employment.

If you have friends planning to visit the zoo, please share this story with them. It’s a crucial reminder of the importance of safety measures and respecting zoo boundaries.
