Man tries out ‘Uber’ for private jets and flies ‘like a millionaire’ for under $550

Did you know there’s an ‘Uber’ style app for private jets? It’s news to many of us, but one adventurous soul decided to give it a shot and fly like a millionaire without breaking the bank.

A Decent Price for No Queues, No Baggage Claims, and No Liquid Limits

YouTuber DownieLive, known as Mike, decided to try this ‘Uber’ style of flying, and what an adventure it was!

‘They say the app is just like Uber for private jets,’ he remarked. ‘So, we’re going to give it a try.’

The app he’s talking about is Airble, which is readily available on the App Store. ‘It’s very simple,’ Mike demonstrates. ‘You enter where you want to go and when, and it gives you a list of planes available for those dates. You just pick the one you want.’

Using a concept called Deadhead, where pilots need to return to their home base and usually have empty seats, the app offers these seats to the public at a significantly discounted price.

Mike’s private jet adventure only cost him $542.29 for a flight from Vancouver to Kelowna. Considering the quick hour-long journey, this price was quite remarkable. It saved him from a five-hour drive or a tedious four-hour commercial flight.

By paying just $150 more than a typical economy class ticket, he avoided numerous hassles and enjoyed a truly luxurious experience. Compared to Business Class at $810, it was a steal!

When heading to the private jet section of the airport, Mike listed the benefits: no queues, no waiting for baggage, a private lounge, no liquid restrictions, no waiting for other passengers, and even a personal escort to the plane by the pilot.

The jet, a Piagio Bounty, stands out from commercial planes with its forward wing and rear propellers, making for a quieter and smoother ride. ‘It also allows us to fly up to 41,000 feet at an impressive speed of 360 knots,’ said Jeremy, the pilot.

Mike was thrilled with what he described as ‘jet performance with propeller pricing.’ The journey took off almost immediately after a brief safety drill, and the flight was incredibly peaceful.

Importantly, Mike pointed out that anyone can enjoy this experience, not just popular YouTubers. For $500, anyone can fly private within the US and Canada.

‘I truly appreciate how technology made this possible,’ he shared. ‘We’re only here because of this app.’
