Tupperware Closes Final U.S. Plant, Moves to Mexico
In a move that has deeply upset many, especially conservatives, Tupperware announced the closure of its last American factory in Hemingway, South Carolina. Set to begin in late September and finish by January 2025, about 150 employees are expected to lose their jobs as Tupperware shifts its production to Mexico. The company cites tough financial conditions as the cause of this decision.
Tupperware’s spokesperson clarified that the decision had nothing to do with the performance of the Hemingway team.
