Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s life in the US hasn’t been as private as many might have expected. Despite their intentions to step back from the public eye, their existence has been anything but low-key, thanks to their Netflix and Spotify deals. Harry’s memoir, Spare, only stirred up more interest.
Now, as their children, Archie and Lilibet, prepare for kindergarten and preschool, the Sussexes find themselves facing new challenges. It’s rumored that despite their initial desire to be embraced by Hollywood’s elite, many A-listers have kept their distance. More recently, reports suggest that Harry’s friends have been reluctant to visit him.
The Duke of Sussex hasn’t returned to the UK often in recent years. Following their eviction from Frogmore Cottage by King Charles, Harry and Meghan haven’t had a stable base in Harry’s home country.
But now, according to reports, a surprising return might be in the cards. One royal expert claims that Harry is searching for a permanent home in the UK for a rather poignant reason.
When Harry and Meghan relocated to the US, they aimed for a fresh start far from their royal duties. It was a significant move for their then family of three, which has since grown with the birth of their daughter, Princess Lilibet, who recently celebrated her third birthday.
Despite their desire for privacy, their contentious accusations against the Royal Family—aired during their notable Oprah Winfrey interview, their Netflix series, other interviews, and prominently in Harry’s book, Spare—have kept them in the media spotlight globally.
In addition to their media appearances, the couple has embarked on several business ventures. Currently, Meghan is reportedly focusing on enhancing her own brand. Some months ago, she launched her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchid. However, the initial reception was not as warm as anticipated.
The first product through American Riviera Orchid was a jam that, unfortunately, faced ridicule not only for its taste but also for its steep price. Royal expert Tom Quinn shared that Meghan was deeply affected by the “unfair criticism” she received.
“The one fly in the ointment is Meghan’s new internet brand, America Riviera Orchard. Meghan was in tears when the brand launched, and her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special,” Quinn told the Mirror.
