Valerie Bertinelli and Boyfriend Playfully Attempt a Transformation Video: ‘We’ll Never Be the Cool Kids’

“We’re good!” the former Food Network star said as she and Mike Goodnough walked out of frame all dressed up for the 2024 Daytime Emmys

Valerie Bertinelli is having some fun with new trends alongside her new boyfriend!

The lovable duo decided to create a playful transformation video, swapping their casual jeans and T-shirts for a glitzy evening look. They shared plenty of laughs as they tried to time their jumps perfectly for the trendy social media video.

After several attempts, they successfully made the jump, seamlessly cutting to Bertinelli in a stylish white suit with her hair in beautiful waves. By her side was Goodnough, looking sharp in an all-black suit with matching sneakers.

“We’re good!” Bertinelli said with a giggle as the two walked off-frame, clearly pleased with their efforts.

Before the video ended, Goodnough humorously remarked, “I could never direct for [you].”

“Sooo… tried to make one of those newfangled transition videos like the cool kids. It went…well…like this 🤣😂,” Bertinelli captioned the video, which was set to the iconic tune of Queen’s “Under Pressure.”

She humorously added, “(We’ll never be the cool kids),” and made sure to tag Goodnough’s Instagram account.

Goodnough shared his own reflections on their glamorous night out at the Daytime Emmys on Instagram. He posted a candid selfie capturing a moment at their table, with Bertinelli laughing joyfully.

“So, going to the Daytime Emmys with @Wolfiesmom last night was a trip,” he wrote, referring to Valerie. “There are a lot of shots floating around of the two of us but my favorite is this one. I took it at the table with my phone. It’s the one that captures our relationship.”

He continued to share his thoughts about the night, stating, “The celebrity stuff is fun for a minute as a novelty… but it’s just what comes with what Valerie does for a living. It isn’t what matters.”

Goodnough concluded his sweet caption by sharing how they wrapped up their evening, writing, “At the end of the day, we’re just two people who got to dress up but then skipped the gala and went home and ate pizza together.”

The couple publicly acknowledged their relationship in April, with Bertinelli expressing her feelings about finding love again.

“I’m in love,” Bertinelli said in April. “It’s a seesaw of emotions because I was adamant I was never falling in love again.”

She shared, “I was supposed to die with my six cats and my dog and very happily live the rest of my years alone — I’m good alone. My belly is flip-flopping. This was not supposed to happen.”
