Award-winning actor George Clooney became one of the world’s most well-known bachelors following the end of his first marriage to actress Talia Balsam.

After becoming single again, George shared with broadcaster Barbara Walters during an interview in 1995 that he would never marry again since his first union “failed.”

George and Balsam had tied the knot in 1989 and ended their marriage in 1993 after four years together. In those days, the Hollywood superstar kept his romantic life quite private and often dismissed rumors connecting him to Croatian model Monika Jaksic and actress Katie Holmes.

Many of his co-stars were settling down at the time, but George seemed comfortable being on his own. Despite his previous vow to remain unwed, his outlook transformed when he met his present wife, Amal Clooney.
