Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce has been very public and seems to have taken a quite unpleasant turn. Now, there appears to be some fresh, startling information coming forward.
Let’s dive deeper into the latest updates.
A former security guard who worked closely with both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has accused the actress of some troubling behavior during her marriage to Pitt.
Recently obtained court documents reveal claims from Pitt’s legal team that Tony Webb, a former security guard, was informed that Jolie had instructed their children not to communicate with Pitt during his custody visits.
Additionally, the documents allege that Jolie tried to use non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to silence the security guards on this matter.
This information is part of the ongoing legal battle concerning their shared Château Miraval vineyard. The case has seen multiple disputes, particularly regarding the use of NDAs.
According to the court records, Webb served as the head of Jolie’s security detail for nearly two decades and continued in this role for about four years after the couple’s split.
Webb stated that Jolie required him and his team to sign NDAs covering a wide range of personal and professional information pertaining to her and her family.
Following the couple’s separation, a heated custody battle ensued over their six children. Webb claimed that Jolie’s representatives repeatedly reminded him to ensure his staff was aware of their NDAs with Jolie and the threat of legal action if they testified in the custody proceedings.
Webb conveyed this message to his contractors, who confirmed they were willing to testify if summoned, despite the risks.
One contractor reportedly intended to testify about overhearing Jolie encourage the children to avoid spending time with Pitt during custody visits.
Despite the threats, both security contractors testified, leading to Webb’s company being terminated by Jolie soon after.
While Webb didn’t directly hear Jolie instruct the children, he is now working for Pitt.
In response, Jolie’s attorney, Paul Murphy, addressed the media, stressing that NDAs are standard for security personnel and housekeepers to protect confidential information. He criticized Pitt’s attempt to link these common agreements to broader allegations.
According to Murphy, the issue is about power and control, emphasizing Jolie’s desire for a healthy separation and positive family relationships, including with Pitt.
The latest filing follows a complaint by Jolie’s lawyer, alleging Pitt was physically abusive toward her before the infamous 2016 plane incident, which prompted Jolie to file for divorce.
Her legal team also sought to compel Pitt to disclose the reasons for conditioning his purchase of her share of Miraval on an extensive NDA, which they argue was a tactic to cover up alleged abuse.
However, Pitt’s lawyers claim it was Jolie and her team who initially requested a broader NDA.
Notably, Pitt was never charged following the investigation into the 2016 plane incident.
