The cast is “thick as thieves” as filming is underway in Thailand, the actor says
Walton Goggins can’t say much, but he knows that season 3 of The White Lotus is going to be worth the wait.
Production is currently underway on the show in Thailand, and Goggins, 52, says that the cast is “so deep in it” right now.
“I can’t believe that we’re in the middle of it right now, and all of these relationships and all of these friendships are just being cemented with all of these experiences that we’re having,” he says on the red carpet at the Gotham TV Awards at Cipriani Broadway in New York City on June 4.
While he knows he has to be “very, very careful” to not “reveal anything” about what’s to come, Goggins teases that the season 3 script “ran the gamut.”
“Mike [White] himself has said what he’s said about season one and what that represents and what season two represents,” he says of the show’s creator. “Season three, without putting words in his mouth, will represent something very, very, very specific and, for my money, will resonate deeply to a very big audience, and certainly with the fans of what he does.”
While excitement is running high, the Fallout star is definitely aware of how many eyes are on him and the rest of the cast.
“There’s a lot of pressure really, isn’t there? I mean, it’s a cultural juggernaut and to be a part of it, to get that invitation, for me is like working with [Quentin] Tarantino,” Goggins says. “When I say the ‘Golden Ticket,’ it’s not what you can get from an experience like that, but it’s the experience itself, and for the few that are given that opportunity, it is something that will bond you for life.”
He’s lucky enough to be filming alongside some dear friends already, so that’s eased some of the stress, too.
“I have a lot of friends that I came into this experience with,” he adds. “Leslie Bibb is like a sister to me, and Parker Posey is a dear friend, and Michelle Monaghan — so I knew a lot of people, and people knew people, friends of friends, if you will. Jason Isaacs and all the rest of it, but we’re as thick as thieves this far into it.”
Seasons 1 and 2 of The White Lotus are streaming on Max.
