The ‘Access Hollywood’ co-host and father of three turned 50 in October.
Mario Lopez is embracing a new decade!
While attending the opening night of Reefer Madness: The Musical in Los Angeles, Mario shared he’s feeling good after turning 50 last October.
“Yeah, I mean that’s a milestone birthday obviously, so you kind of pause and see how you got there and what’s ahead,” he said. “I feel very blessed to be hanging around and working and have an awesome wife and kids and as busy as I am.”
“So, you know, so far, so good. Here’s to the next 50!” he added.
Last year, Lopez proved his youthful mindset when he donned a varsity jacket — a tribute to his character A.C. Slater from the hit ’90s TV series Saved by the Bell — for a collaboration with e.l.f. Cosmetics.
“I’m in my prime, yes I am,” the Access Hollywood co-host declared in a promo video for the brand in March 2023, as he showed off his throwback look. “And you know I’m down with a varsity jacket.”
Back in 2022, Lopez revealed that he’d taken on a new challenge at 48 — a jiu jitsu competition with his then-8-year-old son, Dominic.
He included a photo of the father-son duo posing with their medals on the podium — a gold for Lopez and a bronze for Dominic.
The TV personality has continued to make jiu jitsu a part of his fitness regime as he kicks off his 50s. Back in December, he revealed he had suffered a facial injury during a particularly intense session. He shared a series of selfies on Instagram showing off his injury, which included a swollen cheek and a black eye.
However, he also celebrated the “magic” of makeup as he shared another photo of himself at work on set looking as good as new and camera-ready.
At the May 30 event, Lopez also opened up about his latest acting project and how it was a family affair. He said that he and wife Courtney shot a movie together for the American Family Network, called Once Upon a Christmas Wish. Their son Dominic also makes an appearance in the holiday film.
“We had a great time. We were out in Chicago. Coincidentally, it’s got singing and dancing as well,” said Lopez, who — in addition to 10-year-old Dominic — shares 13-year-old daughter Gia and 4-year-old Santino with Courtney.
“My wife’s in it, my son’s in it,” he continued. “And it’s coming out Thanksgiving weekend, so we’re looking forward to it.”
Lopez also noted that the best part about working with his family is that “I don’t miss them because I get to see them all the time.”
