The first eight seasons of the beloved legal drama, Suits, are already on Netflix, and great news has just been announced for fans: Season 9 is arriving on the platform this July!
Since it was added to Netflix’s collection, Suits has become even more popular, especially among younger viewers. It initially aired from 2011 to 2019, but its addition to Netflix gave it new life and drew in more fans.
Suits, featuring stars like Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, and notably Meghan Markle, accumulated an impressive 3 billion viewing minutes from June 26 to July 2, 2023, across Netflix and Peacock. It even stayed in Netflix’s Top 10 Series list for a whole month!
Many new fans who discovered the show on Netflix were puzzled when they discovered that the ninth and final season wasn’t available on the platform. It was only streaming on Peacock and Amazon Prime Video at that time.
In response to Suits’ incredible viewing records on both Netflix and Peacock, the NBC-owned streamer playfully pointed out on social media that Peacock was the only place where all nine seasons were available. They humorously added, “This tweet was approved by Legal 😘.”
The announcement for Suits Season 9 on Netflix also came after a podcast venture from two of its stars. Back in April, Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen) revealed a new rewatch podcast. They aim to revisit each episode, share behind-the-scenes moments, and chat with guest stars,”
Adams and Rafferty expressed, “On the heels of the record-breaking Suits resurgence, it feels like the perfect time to rewatch the show that changed our lives.”
Adding to the excitement, NBCUniversal earlier announced plans for a new Suits spinoff, Suits L.A., which will introduce a fresh set of characters within the same universe. While it’s unclear if original cast members, including Meghan Markle, will appear, Suits creator Aaron Korsh will lead the new project.
