The ‘Golden Bachelor’ star hung out with Kendall and Kris Jenner while his season was airing last fall
Kendall Jenner had an interesting encounter with the Golden Bachelor, Gerry Turner. She noticed some things on his phone that she probably wasn’t supposed to see.
At the end of the May 30 episode of The Kardashians, viewers got a sneak peek of the next episode, revealing that Kendall, 28, got to meet and dine with Gerry Turner, who was the star of the first season of The Golden Bachelor.
In the clip, Kendall expressed, “This is the most excited I’ve been in a really long time,” as she and her mom, Kris Jenner, were preparing to welcome Gerry, 72, to their home. “My mom pulled some strings and got Gerry to come over for dinner,” she explained.
During his visit, Kendall noticed something on Gerry’s phone and quickly realized it was something she shouldn’t have seen.
“Did you not see what I saw?” she asked one of the producers later. “I saw his phone.”
In a confessional, Kendall remarked, “I’ve seen some things that I shouldn’t have seen.”
It seems Kendall might have inadvertently seen something revealing Gerry’s proposal to Theresa Nist at the end of the season. This proposal had not aired when Gerry visited Kendall and Kris, hence the situation remained under wraps.
The finale, which aired on Nov. 30, showcased Gerry proposing to Theresa. Their wedding was broadcast in January in a unique televised event called the Golden Wedding. However, in an unexpected twist, the couple announced their plans to divorce just three months later. On April 12, Gerry shared on Good Morning America, “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, and so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.” Gerry officially filed for divorce that same day.
When Gerry visited Kris Jenner’s home, he was still with his fiancée then. Neither Kris nor Kendall had any idea of who Gerry would ultimately choose, although Kendall might have gotten a slight hint from what she saw on his phone.
After the watch party, Gerry told Entertainment Tonight that Kris had invited him over, and also mentioned that Kendall’s boyfriend, Bad Bunny, was present too.
As Gerry recalled, “We kind of traded off. I got to spend an evening with her and I asked her if she would do a shoutout to the women on the show — especially to Susan [Noles] who is kind of her look-alike.”
He also noted that Bad Bunny, 30, kept a low profile upon arrival at Kris’ home and introduced himself as Benito. It wasn’t until later that Bad Bunny revealed his celebrity status to Gerry by saying, “Yeah, I’m Bad Bunny and I was on Saturday Night Live two nights ago.”
Gerry fondly described the evening as “pretty cool.”
New episodes of The Kardashians air Thursdays at 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT on Hulu, and The Golden Bachelor is now streaming in full on Hulu.
