Post Malone Teases Country Collaboration with Blake Shelton — and Gwen Stefani ‘Can’t Handle’ Her Excitement

Malone has recently released a number of country tracks, including an appearance on Beyonce’s album ‘Cowboy Carter’ and ‘I Had Some Help’ with Morgan Wallen.

Post Malone is teasing a brand new country track — and he’s got a very special collaborator in Blake Shelton.

On Thursday, May 23, the rapper/singer, 28, shared a post on Instagram featuring a short snippet of a song in the works from him and Shelton, 47. Malone could be seen in the studio as he bopped his head to the track and poured himself a drink.

The fun, upbeat-sounding track features lyrics about partying on a Friday night, with vocals from both the “Sunflower” musician and Shelton.

“Somebody pour me a drink, somebody bum me a smoke,” Malone and Shelton can be heard singing together.

“I’m ’bout to get on a buzz/I’m ’bout to get on a roll. I’ve been breaking my back, just keeping up with the Joneses/Y’all know what I mean, y’all know how it goes,” they continue.

In another X (formerly Twitter) post from Shelton, he can be seen watching Malone’s video and dancing along to the still-unnamed song as he sips on his own drink out of a plastic cup.

Lots of fans expressed their excitement for the upcoming collaboration in the comments section of Malone’s video — including music superstar Gwen Stefani (who is also Shelton’s wife).

“Can’t handle this much cool and cute!! Super fan alert!” she wrote in a comment.

This new song marks yet another track in Malone’s recent transition from rap to country. Earlier this year, he and Beyoncé made headlines when they paired up for an unlikely duet on her highly anticipated country record Cowboy Carter. Malone is featured on the track “LEVII’S JEANS”, where he and Beyoncé sing about wishing they could be their partner’s Levi jeans.

Malone celebrated the release and praised the Grammy winner in an Instagram post, writing that the album is “beautiful.”

“thank you [Beyoncé]. congrats this album is beautiful,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories, reposting her Instagram post with various photos from the album’s art.

On May 10, Malone and Morgan Wallen released a country track “I Had Some Help” after teasing it on social media for weeks in advance.

Malone first gave fans a glimpse of the song with a 17-second clip on TikTok back in April. During Wallen’s headlining set at the Stagecoach musical festival, he brought Malone out to perform the song live for the first time.

The country-pop fusion song blends Wallen and Malone’s vocals as they sing about a breakup.

Earlier this month, Malone made his debut at the ACM Awards with a performance of an unreleased song and “I Had Some Help.”

Billboard reported that Malone said he was working on a full-length country record during a Twitch live stream in April.

“Country record is coming. I keep singing a song that we made while I was in Nashville. It’s so f—ing sick, but it’s not out,” he told the outlet.
