Taylor Swift Gets Sweet Shout-Out from Donatella Versace After Unveiling New Eras Tour Looks: ‘You Always Shine’
Versace shared images of the pop star in her latest additions to the tour’s onstage wardrobe
Taylor Swift is making the whole place shimmer with her latest Versace looks on tour — and even Donatella Versace is showing her some praise!
On Friday, May 10, the 69-year-old designer shared a sweet note dedicated Swift, 34, on Instagram, all while sharing a few glimpses of her latest additions to the Eras Tour wardrobe.
“@taylorswift, you always shine in Versace,” Versace captioned a handful of recent Eras Tour photos. “You rule that Eras stage with elegance and power! 💖”
Alongside her kind note, Versace shared a few images from the Paris kickoff of the tour’s latest leg on Thursday, May 9. For the fresh run of concerts, Swift added two brand new Versace looks to her performance: A glittery red bodysuit and a fuchsia blazer.
The custom-made Atelier Versace pieces were created just for Swift’s live gigs, per a release from Versace.
They include the fully crystal-embroidered bodysuit, which features “bustier boning structure and degradé of paillettes, in tones of orange with iridescent elements.” The second look — the double-breasted blazer — is “embellished in iridescent fuchsia crystals, accented by gold Medusa buttons,” per the release. Swift paired both with her unmistakable knee-high Christian Louboutin boots (also in a new colorway from previous legs of the tour).
Swift previously wore iterations of these outfits on her tour (from Versace) but in different colors. But a new leg of the tour calls for new colors, of course!
As previously noted, Swift’s new concerts follow her brief hiatus from touring after her March concerts in Singapore. She’s not only added some of her new album — The Tortured Poets Department — to the set list, but also a few new costumes to really give the tour a fresh update.
Outside of the Versace looks, Swift debuted a silver and black fringe dress reminiscent of a similar Fearless Tour dress from 2009, a new gown for her Speak Now set, a new “22” shirt (which reads “This Is Not Taylor’s Version”), a new yellow Alberta Ferretti dress for Folklore and a fresh pink and blue two-piece for 1989.
The TTPD tracks now included in the set list include “Down Bad,” “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?,” “So High School,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart,” and lead single — and the current No. 1 track on the Billboard Hot 100 — “Fortnight.”
And Versace isn’t the only one stoked about Swift’s latest leg of the tour, as the pop star’s boyfriend Travis Kelce also showed his excitement in the comment section of an Instagram post shared by Swift’s guitarist, Paul Sidoti, this past week.
Underneath an image of Swift and Sidoti ahead of their four shows at La Défense Arena in Paris, Kelce, 34, kept his comment short and sweet: “Lfg!!!,” he wrote, as an acronym for “Let’s F—ing Go.”
Kelce has previously attended Swift’s shows in Singapore, Sydney, Buenos Aires and Kansas City — a tour date that eventually led to the formation of their romance last year.
Swift’s next show in Paris kicks off on Friday, May 10.
