Richard Gere’s family recently revealed that the actor had been unwell for a few weeks before seeking treatment at a hospital. Fortunately, he is now on the path to recovery. While vacationing with his family in the Mexican town of Nuevo Vallarta, Richard was diagnosed with pneumonia. He had developed a cough and decided to visit the hospital, where the condition was discovered. After spending a night at the hospital, he was released.

During their time in Mexico, Alejandra Silva, Richard’s wife, shared an update on his health. She mentioned that Richard wasn’t the only one in the family who had been sick for weeks. Alejandra expressed her gratitude that everyone was recovering and accompanied her post with a photo of herself on the beach with Richard’s two sons, born in 2019 and 2020.

“We’re thankful for all the birthday greetings,” she said, referring to her recent 40th birthday celebration. “After almost three weeks of illness within our family, I’m finally feeling much better! Thank you for all the love, which I send right back to you!” Alejandra’s followers showered her with kind wishes in response to her message.

Following her first Instagram post about Richard being admitted to the hospital, Alejandra provided another update on his condition. She shared a photo of herself and Richard wearing masks while walking with one of their boys. In the caption, she wrote, “I woke up this morning and saw the news and all of your sweet and concerned comments; he is getting better.” She reassured everyone that Richard was doing much better than the previous day and thanked them for their encouraging thoughts.
