Bindi and Robert Irwin, the children of the late Steve Irwin, continue to honor their father’s legacy and dedication to protecting Australia’s diverse wildlife. In addition to sharing their father’s passion for animals, Robert Irwin seems to have inherited more than just looks from his late father.
Recently, Robert Irwin shared a spine-tingling resemblance with his dad when he captured a similar encounter on camera. He posted old footage of Steve Irwin being bitten in the face by a python snake, and then shared a video of himself handling the very same snake and suffering multiple bites on his nose and eyebrow.
“Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart,” Robert wrote in the caption for the video. “I found this python on the side of a road, but as you can see, sometimes snake rescues don’t quite go to plan 😂”
Both father and son bravely accepted the bites, showcasing their deep love and respect for wildlife. Robert handled the snake rescue with the same composure as his dad did while attending to his wounds. “I got a little too close, so he gave me a bite. They’ve got extremely sharp teeth like little needles.”
This uncanny resemblance between father and son not only highlights their shared passion but also showcases the bond they both have with these incredible creatures. It’s clear that Robert Irwin is following in his late father’s footsteps and carrying on his legacy.
Steve Irwin’s wife, Terri Irwin, along with their two children, Robert and Bindi Irwin, continues to honor Steve’s memory and work through wildlife conservation at the Australia Zoo. Despite Steve’s tragic passing in 2006 at the age of 44, his children have grown up to be remarkable individuals.
In September of last year, on the anniversary of his father’s death and Father’s Day in Australia, Robert paid tribute to his dad with a heartfelt post on social media. “It’s Father’s Day today in Australia, and I am sending my love to those who are missing their dad today. I cherish all the good times with my dad and feel grateful to be able to keep his memory and legacy alive ❤️.”
