Meet Pear, a severely matted dog who was discovered in the middle of the road by Mac’s Mission, a special needs dog rescue nonprofit based in Missouri. When she was found, Pear was completely covered in thick, matted fur. According to the rescue, she didn’t even look like a dog anymore. She was simply a wad of hair.

Throughout the grooming process, Pear remained patiently cooperative. Steffen described her as the sweetest dog who quietly sat through the removal of her thick mats, which took quite some time. Afterward, Pear settled into her new temporary home and quickly drifted off to sleep, exhausted from her transformation.
