Heroes come in all shapes and sizes and are found in all walks of life. We should all know this by now. Thanks to the internet, we’re able to celebrate everyday heroes from around the world when their good deeds are shared online.

Sadly, there are still people who choose to do bad things to innocent individuals. These individuals have always existed, but today it seems like their actions are given more attention, thanks to the internet. One such act of cruelty occurred in Brooklyn, New York in 2020.

According to reports, a 53-year-old man named Daniel Biggs, known to the New York PD, was riding his bike one evening when he decided to punch a 60-year-old woman in the face. The motive behind this despicable act remains unknown, but we can all agree that attacking an elderly lady is a terrible thing to do.

Little did Biggs know that his actions were being captured on camera. Not only that, but he was also in front of a fire station where four heroic firefighters were watching the whole incident unfold.

Surveillance footage shows the woman walking down Hancock Street when Biggs swerved onto the sidewalk and struck her as he rode past. The woman fell to the ground, while Biggs tried to escape, thinking he had gotten away with it.

But his smugness quickly turned to shock when he saw the four firefighters from the 214/Ladder 111 fire station giving chase. Determined not to let him get away, they caught up to him, wrestled him off his bike, and a scuffle ensued. One firefighter was even punched in the eye during the struggle.

In the end, the firefighters managed to overpower Biggs and hold him down until the police arrived to arrest him. It was later revealed that Biggs had a staggering 18 prior arrests.

A bystander named Twin Alzokari, who works at a nearby deli, witnessed the whole incident and commended the actions of the firefighters. “You can’t hit a woman. She’s very nice, the whole family. I grew up with them, and they are very nice,” he said. “I just saw the guy running with the bike, and I saw the fire department chasing after him.”
