In honor of Allison Holker’s late husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss.
In a statement posted on December 14 announcing his death, the mother of three reflected on the former DJ of the Ellen DeGeneres Show’s impact.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to inform my husband Stephen has left us,” Holker stated in a statement to E! News.
“Stephen brought light into every room he entered.”
“Above all, he valued his family, friends, and community. He believed that the greatest way to lead was to lead with love and light. He was the cornerstone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his followers.”
“It would be an understatement to say he left a legacy, and his positive influence will continue to be felt,” she added. “I’m certain there will never be a day when we don’t remember him. We respectfully beg your privacy during this tough time for myself and our three children.”
“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you,” she concluded with a message to her husband.
Fans have been watching Boss make their televisions happy for years. He appeared on MTV’s The Wade Robson Project and Star Search in 2003. He finished second on So You Think You Can Dance in 2008. Boss returned to the dance competition in 2010 for the All-Star season, when he met fellow dancer Holker. The pair married in 2013. They had three children together: Weslie, 14, Maddox, 6, and Zaia, 3.
In 2014, Boss began working as a DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In 2020, he was moved to co-executive producer, a position he held until the show’s termination in 2022, while also frequently filling in as host. He also appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ Ellen’s Game of Games.
Over the years, viewers have seen Boss in a number of TV and film roles, including his return to SYTYCD as a judge, cameos on shows like Modern Family and Bones, and performances in films like Magic Mike XXL and the Step Up series.
Boss and Holker routinely published small videos of themselves dancing together and photos of their family on social media to give followers a glimpse into their relationship. The couple celebrated nine years of marriage just four days before Boss died, and both of them shared tributes on social media at the time.
