“It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Drake Hogestyn,” the family’s message began.

“He was thrown the curve ball of his life when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but he faced the challenge with incredible strength and determination,” they continued. “After putting up an unbelievable fight, he passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones.”

Drake’s family fondly remembered him as the “most amazing husband, father, papa, and actor.”

They also touched on his deep gratitude for his work on ‘Days of Our Lives.’ “He loved performing for the Days audience and sharing the stage with the greatest cast, crew, and production team in the business,” the family’s statement read.

They concluded with love, saying, “We love him and we will miss him all the Days of our Lives.”

Drake Hogestyn began his memorable journey as John Black in 1986. Before becoming an actor, he played professional baseball in the Minor Leagues, showcasing his versatile talents and passions.
