Los Angeles police are currently investigating after Jennifer Aniston appeared to be the victim of a targeted attack last Friday.
Reports from TMZ indicate that officials received a call from a concerned citizen who was worried about their friend’s well-being. The caller reportedly mentioned that the person was “not doing well” and hinted at seeing them on the other side.
The anonymous caller provided an address to the police and asked them to perform a welfare check.
Around midnight, authorities responded to the listed address. It wasn’t until they conversed with the security personnel on site that they realized they were at the house of the famous Friends star, Jennifer Aniston.
Aniston herself came out to speak with the officers, assuring them that she had no intentions of harming herself as the caller had suggested.
After being convinced that Jennifer Aniston was safe and well, but instead the victim of a cruel prank known as swatting—deceiving authorities into sending emergency services to someone else’s address—the officers took note of her home and left the scene.
The authorities plan to continue their investigation.
Jennifer Aniston is not the only celebrity who has been the target of swatting. Other well-known figures like Justin Bieber, Tom Cruise, Rihanna, and Clint Eastwood have also experienced unexpected visits from the police at their homes.
