No one wants to come face-to-face with an unexpected visitor in their home, especially one with four legs.

A man in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, was taken aback when he found a black bear in his garage while he was charging his electric vehicle, according to video service Storyful.

The video captures the tense moment when the bear locked eyes with the man, Alex Gold, before it started running towards him.

Despite the sudden encounter, Gold remained astonishingly calm. The video shows Gold firmly saying “No” and clapping his hands as he slowly backed away from the advancing bear.

To evade the bear, Gold quickly opened his vehicle, got inside, and shut the doors.

While the bear sniffed around Gold’s car, a bear cub also appeared in the video.

Gold honked the horn several times to scare off the two bears.
