Meghan Markle Details Moving Moment She Had With Her and Prince Harry’s Daughter Lilibet

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently shared a touching moment she experienced with her young daughter, Princess Lilibet, during their first overseas trip since stepping back from royal duties.

Motherhood certainly brings its challenges, as Meghan Markle is finding out.

During a three-day tour in Nigeria on May 10th, Meghan couldn’t help but recount a heartwarming exchange with 2-year-old Lilibet while they visited children at the Lightway Academy. She told a kindergarten class, “Our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys,” adding that Lilibet would soon turn three. Meghan explained that a couple of weeks earlier, Lilibet looked into her eyes and saw her own reflection, saying, “Mama, I see myself in you.”

Though Lilibet spoke quite literally, the 42-year-old Meghan reflected on the deeper meaning of those words. She thought, “Yes, I do see myself in you, and you see me in you.”

While sitting next to Harry in the classroom, she remarked to the pupils, “As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”

The couple, who also have a five-year-old son, Prince Archie, enjoyed singing and dancing with the children, and played games throughout their visit. Meghan mentioned, “That’s Lili’s favorite class,” perhaps because of all the jumping around.

Although Meghan and Harry prefer to keep their family life private, they often offer small glimpses into their world as a family of four.

In February, Prince Harry shared on Good Morning America, “The kids are doing great.” He noted that like all children, they are growing up quickly.

Reflecting on his role as a father, the 39-year-old Harry added, “They both have an amazing sense of humor and make us laugh and keep us grounded every single day. I’m just really appreciative to be a father.”
