Meghan Markle makes major admission about her time as a working royal

Meghan Markle has shared a striking revelation about her experience as a working royal, shedding light on her life after marrying Prince Harry in 2018.

The Duchess of Sussex Reflects on Her Royal Life

Meghan and Harry, now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stepped away from their royal duties in 2020, making headlines worldwide. Their decision to become financially independent led them to move from the UK to Los Angeles.

Their reasons behind leaving the royal spotlight were revealed in a candid interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Meghan shared some deeply personal and troubling experiences, including racist comments from a senior royal about the skin color of her unborn son, Archie.

These revelations were followed by hostile headlines that often reduced Meghan’s identity to her ethnicity and questioned her admissions about experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Finding Comfort in Bookstores

Last week, Meghan reunited with Oprah at a book club session at the Godmothers Bookstore, near her home in Montecito, California. Reflecting on how bookstores have been a source of solace for her, Meghan said, “For me, sneaking to New York five years ago was a really big deal.”

Meghan admitted that even after stepping back from her royal duties, she still felt uneasy being out in public. She said, “I was still so uncomfortable being out in the world. The safety of what I was craving, I knew I could find in a bookstore.”

She expressed gratitude to the bookstore’s founders, Rudolph Walsh and Victoria Jackson, for creating a space where many feel seen, whether in laughter or grief, or just feeling less alone.

Life Beyond the Royal Family

After the event, Meghan remarked, “I’ve got to make dinner for the kids.” Noteworthy personalities like Ellen DeGeneres, Jane Lynch from Glee, and author Elizabeth Holmes were also in attendance.

Psychic medium Laura Lynne Jackson called Meghan a ‘light-filled speaker’ after her appearance.

Meghan and Harry’s relationship began in 2016 and quickly became public. They announced their engagement in November 2017 and married in a grand ceremony at Windsor Castle in 2018.

The couple’s first child, Archie, was born in 2019, followed by their daughter, Lilibet, in 2021.
