Customers will get 20% off select products when they bring their old car seats to the store with the promotion running between Sept. 15 and 28 and will have until Oct. 12 to redeem their discount.
Good news for parents and grandparents! Target’s popular car seat trade-in event is coming back this fall. This is a great opportunity for anyone who needs new baby gear. If you exchange your old car seat or its base, you can get a 20% discount on a new car seat, stroller, or other select baby products.
The event will kick off on Sunday, September 15, and run through Saturday, September 28. To take advantage of this deal, all you have to do is drop off your old car seat in the specially-marked boxes near Guest Services inside any participating Target store.
Once you’ve done that, simply scan the QR code located near the drop-off area to receive your Target Circle Bonus. This bonus gives you the 20% discount, which you can use twice before it expires on October 12.
What Types of Car Seats Can Be Traded In?
You might be wondering what kinds of car seats you can trade in. According to Target, they accept all types of car seats, including infant seats, convertible car seats, car seat bases, and even booster seats with harnesses. It doesn’t matter if they’re damaged or expired; they’ll still take them.
What Happens to the Traded-In Seats?
So, what does Target do with all these old car seats? They recycle the materials to make things like pallets, plastic buckets, steel beams, and carpet padding. This initiative is part of Target’s broader goal to achieve zero waste in landfills by 2030. Since the program started in 2016, they have recycled over 3 million car seats and diverted more than 45 million pounds of car seat materials from landfills.
Are All Target Stores Participating?
Almost every Target store is participating in this program, except for some smaller-format stores. To be sure, it’s always a good idea to check in with your local store for more details.
